To ignore the "open" business model is to risk future irrelevance as the age of the networked organization dawns.

Providing cutting edge trends and the latest insights on the next generation of open innovation has been the long-term mission of the partnership between the PDMA and Management Roundtable in bringing you its annual CoDev conferences.  Since 2002, CoDev has been THE premiere event on open innovation and co-development, and 2010 will prove to be no exception to the rule.  For more information, see http://events.roundtable.com/codev/index.html.

Leading in the Agile University: Innovation, Creativity and Technology

UK higher education has survived and indeed thrived through many periods of turmoil. The longevity of higher education institutions (HEIs) suggests that the sector is 'getting it right' in delivering what they were established to do: the core business of teaching and learning, research, and contribution to business, community and society. But the future is now even harder to predict. We can anticipate that we shall be operating in an increasingly challenging, competitive and complex world. The assumption is that leadership teams that are innovative and creative, who also put technology to maximum strategic advantage, will be amongst the 'winners' emerging from this difficult climate. Building in that 'agility' may be crucial to leadership capacity for change.

The Leadership Foundation's 2010 Higher Education Summit -- Leading in the Agile University: Innovation, Creativity and Technology brings together leaders and managers from across higher education institutions to consider current approaches to fostering and harnessing innovation, creativity and technology in the UK and internationally, and to develop an agenda - for their teams, the sector and their own institutions and to make the most of such opportunities in the future.  For more information, see http://www.lfhe.ac.uk/news/summit2010trailer.html.

Perspectives on Creativity 2010

What is creativity?  What are the characteristics of creative individuals?  What external influences (social, political, cultural, historical, religious) shape creativity and creative products?  How does creativity develop in children?  What is the relationship between creativity and mental health?  What is the relationship between creativity and brain functioning?

Perspectives on Creativity 2010 will take place Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, PA.  This event aims to bring together individuals from a wide array of disciplines, such as psychology, philosophy, theology, sociology, and the arts, to explore answers to these questions.  For questions about the event, email Lynn DellaPietra Ldellapietra@holyfamily.edu.

American Creativity Association

Join us for ACA 2010: Creativity in the Gap, March 21 - March 24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.

The gap -- the space between where we are and where we need to be. The gap -- where the energizing opportunities lie. The gap -- where innovative people, teams, and organizations live. The gap -- where applied creativity is the critical difference between success and failure.

The American Creativity Association's 2010 International Conference will explore life in the gap. Regardless of where you are -- business, academe, science, industry, marketing, new product development -- you'll want to join us as we examine how to define problems and identify opportunities better, select the right tools and techniques for each unique situation, build great teams and apply creative leadership to thrive in the gap between now and an exciting and rewarding new future.

Tilburg Conference on Innovation

The Tilburg Conference on Innovation: Innovation at the Intersection of Strategy, Organization and Learning will take place June 10-12, 2010 at the Center for Innovation Research (CIR) at Tilburg University in The Netherlands.

Successful innovation is fundamentally about the discovery, use and commercialization of new products, processes and services. Organizations engage in innovation in order to enhance their performance; those that fail to innovate run the risk of losing out to those that do. But innovation as such does not guarantee competitive success, as the degree to which firms are able to benefit from their innovative efforts varies widely. This conference aims to explore the drivers and consequences of this heterogeneity.

The central theme of this conference will deal with innovation at the intersection of strategy, organization and learning. This will be a small event with a maximum of 45 papers so that participants have the opportunity to receive quality feedback. Our aim is to include participants from all over the world and to give equal opportunity to younger as well as established scholars, with quality of research being the predominant goal.  For more information, email cir@uvt.nl.
