Innovation in Management

The 4th International Innovation in Management Conference, The Cutting Edge of Business Education and Practice in an Epoch  of Global Collaboration, will take place 21-22 May 2009 in Poznan, Poland. The recent developing global financial crisis at the beginning of the new millennium has underscored many nuances of the interconnected economy in which we live. Obvious responsorial inclinations, such as decoupling and retreat, are not options grounded in our current reality. The need for cooperating globally in management is neither a simple fragment of intellectualized discourse toward regulatory norms and procedures, nor is it well-intentioned plea for collective moral responsibility; more deeply, and straight to the heart of the bottom line for managers, cooperating globally is an unvarnished and increasingly vital asset. This conference explores the many meanings of the conference’s theme, and seeks to define and explain the elements of strategies and lessons learned relevant to managers confronting newly unfolding global realities. For more information, see www.imconference.eu.

Global Forum on Business as an Agent of World Benefit

The Global Forum on Business as an Agent of World Benefit: “Managing as Designing in an Era of Massive Innovation” will take place on June 3-6, 2009.  Sustainable value creation is the business opportunity of the 21st century. It’s an innovation engine unlike anything we have ever seen in management—and it’s a lens which will dominate the management agenda for the next generation of thirty to fifty years. Even more important, the outcomes will define the next episode in creative capitalism and, ultimately, will determine the wellbeing of our imperiled planet.

Hence the forum’s foremost question is this: “How do leading companies, associations, and markets turn pressing global and social issues, for example the Millennium Development Promises or climate change and energy concerns, into business opportunities, in ways that vitally and consistently benefit both business and the world.”  For more information, see globalforum2009.com.
